Renfrew County MLS® home sales jump 30% from April total; new listings now above historical averages for the month
The number of homes sold through the MLS® System of the Renfrew County Real Estate Board totaled 219 units in May 2025. This was a gain of 7.9% from May 2024.
Home sales were 1.3% below the five-year average and 6.2% below the 10-year average for the month of May.
On a year-to-date basis, home sales totaled 631 units over the first five months of the year. This was down by 5.4% from the same period in 2024.
The average price of homes sold in May 2025 was $491,205, a minor increase of 1.2% from May 2024.
The more comprehensive year-to-date average price was $477,758, a small reduction of 1.7% from the first five months of 2024.
The dollar value of all home sales in May 2025 was $107.6 million, increasing by 9.2% from the same month in 2024. This was also a new record for the month of May.
The number of new listings was down only 0.6% (two listings) from May 2024. There were 351 new residential listings in May 2025.
New listings were 3.1% above the five-year average and 1% above the 10-year average for the month of May.
Active residential listings numbered 529 units on the market at the end of May, down by 9.7% from the end of May 2024.
Active listings were 23.9% above the five-year average and 25.8% below the 10-year average for the month of May.
Months of inventory numbered 2.4 at the end of May 2025, down from the 2.9 months recorded at the end of May 2024 and below the long-run average of 3.1 months for this time of year. The number of months of inventory is the number of months it would take to sell current inventories at the current rate of sales activity.
