Renfrew County Real Estate Board MLS® home sales, new listings remain subdued in March

The number of homes sold through the MLS® System of the Renfrew County Real Estate Board totaled 110 units in March 2025. This was a substantial decrease of 12.7% from March 2024.

Home sales were 32.8% below the five-year average and 22.3% below the 10-year average for the month of March.

On a year-to-date basis, home sales totaled 244 units over the first three months of the year. This was a large decline of 19.7% from the same period in 2024.

The average price of homes sold in March 2025 was $507,370, increasing by 3.5% from March 2024.

The more comprehensive year-to-date average price was $464,767, down only 0.6% from the first three months of 2024.

The dollar value of all home sales in March 2025 was $55.8 million, down by 9.7% from the same month in 2024.

The number of new listings saw a substantial decrease of 20% from March 2024. There were 196 new residential listings in March 2025.

New listings were 24.3% below the five-year average and 32% below the 10-year average for the month of March.

Active residential listings numbered 452 units on the market at the end of March, a sizable gain of 15% from the end of March 2024. Active listings haven’t been this high in the month of March in five years.

Active listings were 41.3% above the five-year average and 20.4% below the 10-year average for the month of March.

Months of inventory numbered 4.1 at the end of March 2025, up from the 3.1 months recorded at the end of March 2024 and below the long-run average of 5 months for this time of year. The number of months of inventory is the number of months it would take to sell current inventories at the current rate of sales activity.
