Alberta Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Alberta was 6.8% as of March 2025, up 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.9% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 11,900 fewer full-time jobs in March 2025 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 4,600 part-time positions led to a decrease of 7,300 total jobs in March.
Full-time employment was down 11,900 jobs from the peak in February 2025.
