Guelph Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Guelph was 7.5% as of June 2026, up 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.7% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 3,700 more full-time jobs in June 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 600 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 3,100 total jobs in June.

Full-time employment was down 5,200 jobs from the peak in January 2024 but stood 7,000 jobs above the trough in March 2026.
