Greater Sudbury Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Greater Sudbury was 5.4% as of June 2025, up 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.1% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 600 more full-time jobs in June 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 400 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 200 total jobs in June.

Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in January 2025 and now stands at a record high.
