British Columbia Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in British Columbia was 6.1% as of April 2025, up 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.8% below the peak from June 2020 and is on par with the long-run average.
There were 10,500 more full-time jobs in April 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 8,200 part-time positions, this led to an increase of 2,300 total jobs in April.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in October 2024 and now stands at a record high.
