Chilliwack Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Chilliwack was 6.1% as of June 2025, up 0.2% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 4% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.

There were 1,700 fewer full-time jobs in June 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a gain of 500 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 1,200 total jobs in June.

Full-time employment was still down 2,100 jobs from the peak in December 2023 but stood 5,500 jobs above the trough in December 2024.
