Edmonton Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Edmonton was 8.3% as of November 2024, down 0.3% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 7.3% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 8,400 more full-time jobs in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 3,200 part-time positions led to an increase of 11,600 total jobs in November.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in July 2024 and now stands at a record high.
