Kingston Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Kingston was 5.8% as of October 2024, down 0.7% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6.6% below the peak from June 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 2,400 more full-time jobs in October 2024 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 700 part-time positions led to an increase of 3,100 total jobs in October.

Full-time employment was still down 600 jobs from the peak in June 2024 but stood 2,600 jobs above the trough in August 2024.
