Windsor Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Windsor was 6.7% as of April 2023, up 1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 10.8% below the peak from May 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 2,300 fewer full-time jobs in April 2023 compared to a month earlier. A gain of 1,200 part-time positions led to a decrease of 1,100 total jobs in April.

Full-time employment was still down 2,300 jobs from the peak in March 2023.

The number of full-time jobs in April was up from the previous month in agriculture, transportation & warehousing, professional & scientific services, education, healthcare, accommodation & food services, and public administration.

Full-time job losses in April occurred in natural resources, utilities, construction, manufacturing, trade services, the financial sector, business & building services, and information & cultural services.
