Changes in population from migration and immigration
Negative net international immigration added to losses from interprovincial migration, resulting in a net decrease of 3,693 people to Manitoba’s population in the third quarter of 2025. This was a reversal from the net gain of 7,234 people from the third quarter of 2024.
Changes in population from movement within Canada
Some 3,547 people moved to Manitoba from other provinces in the third quarter of 2025, up 9.7% from a year earlier. A total of 5,034 people left the province for elsewhere in Canada in the third quarter, a decrease of 1.8% from the same period in 2024. The result was a net loss of 1,487 people from Manitoba’s population in the third quarter. This was a decrease of 21.5% from the third quarter of 2024.
Changes in population from immigration
Net international immigration subtracted 2,206 people from Manitoba’s population in the third quarter of 2025. This was a reversal from the net gain of 9,129 people from the same period in 2024.
