Winnipeg Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Winnipeg was 6.2% as of February 2025, down 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 6% below the peak from June 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 4,800 more full-time jobs in February 2025 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 3,600 part-time positions led to an increase of 1,200 total jobs in February.
Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in September 2024 and now stands at a record high.
