Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo Employment Trends
The unemployment rate in Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo was 7.8% as of November 2025, up 0.5% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 5.3% below the peak from July 2020 but remains above the long-run average.
There were 1,000 fewer full-time jobs in November 2025 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 1,000 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 2,000 total jobs in November.
Full-time employment was still down 3,800 jobs from the peak in May 2025.
