Kamloops Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Kamloops was 4.9% as of April 2026, up 0.8% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 9.3% below the peak from April 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 1,300 fewer full-time jobs in April 2026 compared to a month earlier. Combined with a loss of 300 part-time positions, this led to a decrease of 1,600 total jobs in April.

Full-time employment was down 21,800 jobs from the peak in April 2025.
