Prince Edward Island Employment Trends

The unemployment rate in Prince Edward Island was 8.3% as of November 2024, down 0.1% from the previous month. The unemployment rate stood 4.9% below the peak from July 2020 and is below the long-run average.

There were 1,000 more full-time jobs in November 2024 compared to a month earlier. A loss of 300 part-time positions led to an increase of 700 total jobs in November.

Full-time employment has recovered since reaching a bottom in September 2024 and now stands at a record high.
