Changes in population from migration and immigration
Positive net international immigration was overshadowed by losses from interprovincial migration, resulting in a net decrease of 321 people to Saskatchewan’s population in the fourth quarter of 2025. This was a reversal from the net gain of 4,475 people from the fourth quarter of 2024.
Changes in population from movement within Canada
Some 2,629 people moved to Saskatchewan from other provinces in the fourth quarter of 2025, up 22.1% from a year earlier. A total of 3,496 people left the province for elsewhere in Canada in the fourth quarter, an increase of 8.1% from the same period in 2024. The result was a net loss of 867 people from Saskatchewan’s population in the fourth quarter. This was a decrease of 19.8% from the fourth quarter of 2024.
Changes in population from immigration
Net international immigration added 546 people to Saskatchewan’s population in the fourth quarter of 2025. This was a decrease of 90.2% from the same period in 2024.
